Margaret Sloan-Hunter (1947-2004) was a leader of feminism and disability rights from the early 1970s. Author, activist, mother, butch, a founding editor of Ms. Magazine, 1974 chairwoman of the National Black Feminist Organization, and co-founder of Lavender Woman (the first lesbian newspaper out of Chicago).
